The Chef and the Guardian

Fully catered
For those seeking a fully catered experience, a skilled personal chef will be resident on the premises, working with guests to discuss and plan every meal according to their preferences. The menu might feature local lamb, beef and venison, alongside, of course, abundant fish from the waters around the island. And there may well be bannocks and, quite possibly, a clootie dumpling.

Picnic hampers ensure the feasting continues wherever your explorations take you—whether heading out for a clifftop walk or a full day’s island adventure. Back at the House, afternoon tea arrives with home baking and island delicacies, while carefully selected wines complement each dinner. Guests are invited for a complimentary behind-the-scenes tour of Isle of Harris Distillery—founded by our owner—with the option to arrange a private whisky tasting at the House afterwards, featuring the exceptional single malts.

Self-catering
For guests who prefer the independence of self-catering, Rodel House’s well-equipped kitchen provides everything needed to prepare meals at your own pace. The house can be provisioned in advance, or guests may wish to explore the island’s local suppliers and smokeries themselves.
